Privacy policy for Work Feels

Last updated: April 4th, 2025

This application is an experiment, but your personal data is still respected. For this experiment to function – and for me to learn what it takes to build and launch personalised AI experiences – I share the following Personal Data with the following Third-Party Services.

I am the only person with access to your data. I will never share or publish your data… ever.

Owner and Data Controller: Luke Sturgeon (hello@lukesturgeon.co.uk)

Data stored and processed by Work Feels

Database (entries about you)

The AI is able to automatically decide when to save or retrieve data about you from a database, during your conversations. It can only access the database via restricted functions I have predetermined. Every person has a unique database that is completely isolated from others. Every database is managed by Turso, hosted on AWS infrastructure, and located within the EU. Each entry includes the following:

  • Created at: the date and time of the entry
  • Doing: a sentance about the thing you said you were doing
  • Feeling: a sentance about the way you said you were feeling
  • Sentiment: a number between 0 and 1 indicating how negative or positive the entry is
  • Embedding: a vector embedding created by OpenAI used to find related entries

Data shared and processed by Third Party Services…

Clerk (sign up & authentication)

When you sign up to this application, I ask for the minimum Personal Data necessary to create a secure user account. This information is collected, stored and processed directly on Clerk’s infrastructure located within the U.S. The information stored is:

  • User ID
  • Email
  • Encrypted password

Clerk’s DPA (Data Processing Addendum) is here.

Open AI (LLM you interact with)

When you interact with this application all text that you enter is shared and processed (but not stored) by Open AI.

Open AI’s DPA (Data Processing Addendum) is here.

Sentry (error monitoring)

I am using Sentry to monitor errors and website performance. If any error is detected whilst using this app, the details about the page, file and line where the error happened are automatically captured. Non-identifiable data about your browser and computer is also included to help be debug. None of your personal data is being shared or processed.

Sentry’s DPA (Data Processing Addendum) is here.

Posthog (product analytics)

I am using PostHog to capture if, where and how you interact with this application. I use this data to learn how people use the application over time, from the first sign up to the latest message you sent. Nothing you write or say is shared, only the fact that you did something. This information is collected and stored directly on PostHogs infrastructure located within the EU. Only the follow data is shared:

  • User ID
  • Event type (a unique name I chose like, “created entry”, “searched entries”)
  • Metadata about your device, location, IP address, time, and AI usage

PostHog’s Privacy Policy is here.
